   The source is the same WOFF2 Google serves: a variable font covering
   weights 400-700 in two subsets (latin + latin-extended). Latin-extended
   carries glyphs needed for proper nouns with diacritics (e.g. Caoimhin).

   Italic added 11.05.26: sections that combine var(--font-display) with
   font-style: italic (aoos, about, votf, btm) now get true italic glyphs
   on every platform rather than faux-italic (algorithmic slant) on
   systems without system Garamond.
